D.C. burglar steals cell, answers call, goes to jail

Crucito Serrano, 20, of Eastern Avenue in Northeast D.C., was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison Monday for second-degree burglary after he stole a cell phone and other items, then answered the phone when the victim called it.

Fugitive Deandre Kelly arrested in Virginia

Aided by local police and sheriffs in western Virginia, federal marshals have arrested Deandre Kelly, 29, of Northeast, who escaped from a Maryland jail in January and had been sought on drug charges in the District.
