Capital Rail Constructors group wins Silver Line contract

Capital Rail Constructors has won the contract to build the second phase of the Silver Line rail extension, which will include a stop at Dulles International Airport.

Fairfax County suggests names for Metro Silver Line stations

Previous possibilities had included too many references to Tysons. The Fairfax board is scheduled to discuss the names Tuesday.

Warning for Tysons walkers, cyclists

Fences are going up around the work zone for the Tysons Central 7 Metrorail station to prevent walkers and bikers from entering the zone to cross Route 7, the Dulles Metrorail project announced today. Project managers want them to use a crosswalk at Gosnell Road/Westpark Drive to cross the busy roadway.

Where should Metrorail stop?

In my Dr. Gridlock column on Sunday, Joan Pifer of Great Falls and I discussed where we'd like to see the Dulles Metro line stop -- not that we really have any choice about it. She'd like it to serve Wolf Trap and the Reston Town Center after the line gets west of Tysons Corner.
