Virginia decides to impose E-ZPass account fees

The new fees start on Sept. 1, but the Virginia Department of Transportation announced breaks for drivers who already hold accounts and for carpoolers who plan to use the new express lanes.

Drivers protest VDOT plan to impose E-ZPass fees

Drivers with Virginia E-ZPasses object to the state’s plan to charge a $1 per month fee to maintain their accounts. VDOT’s deadline for public comment is Tuesday.
