Democrat Kamala Harris has beaten Loretta Sanchez, a Democrat, in the race for the California Senate seat currently held by Barbara Boxer (D).

All of California's House seats have been decided. Republicans have held 14 seats, while Democrats have held 39. Every House seat is up for election every two years.

California voted for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic former secretary of state, in Tuesday’s presidential election.
