Democrat Richard Blumenthal has beaten Dan Carter, a Republican, in the race for the Connecticut Senate seat currently held by Blumenthal.

All of Connecticut's House seats have been decided. Democrats have held five seats. Every House seat is up for election every two years.

Connecticut voted for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic former secretary of state, in Tuesday’s presidential election.
