Democrat Maggie Hassan has beaten Kelly Ayotte, a Republican, in the race for the New Hampshire Senate seat currently held by Ayotte.

Ayotte has put herself in a precarious situation this race by distancing herself from the presidential campaign. She withdrew her support for Trump after the release of a 2005 videotape in which Trump bragged about making unwanted sexual advances toward women.

Republican Chris Sununu has beaten Colin Van Ostern, a Democrat, in the race to be governor of New Hampshire.

All of New Hampshire's House seats have been decided; one switched hands, going to Democrats. Democrats have held one seat. Every House seat is up for election every two years.

New Hampshire voted for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic former secretary of state, in Tuesday’s presidential election.
