Republican Tim Scott has beaten Thomas Dixon, a Democrat, in the race for the South Carolina Senate seat currently held by Scott.

All of South Carolina's House seats have been decided. Republicans have held six seats, while Democrats have held one. Every House seat is up for election every two years.

South Carolina voted for Republican businessman Donald Trump in Tuesday’s presidential election.

The California Democrat recalled his surprise when a Microsoft representative said at a conference last year that three Senate campaigns had been attacked by what seemed like the same Russian government-linked group that interfered in the 2016 election. “That should not be the first time the Intelligence chair is hearing that,” he said.

For years, President Trump railed against America’s shortfalls, stupidity and “carnage.” Now, he wants people who do the same to leave.
