Tribes have no jurisdiction over missing and murdered cases. Annita Lucchesi (Cheyenne), executive director of the Sovereign Bodies Institute, said that’s a problem: Other countries are consulted when their citizens are murdered on U.S. soil, and that should be the case when it comes to tribal nations.
