Madison opened the game with a eight-yard touchdown run by Brandon Walker. Madison added to their lead on John Finney's 32-yard touchdown reception off a pass from quarterback John Cothran. The first quarter came to a close with Madison leading, 14-0.
In the second quarter, Madison went even further ahead following Casey Koshuta's two-yard touchdown run. Madison extended their lead on Thomas MacCall's 42-yard touchdown reception. Marshall cut into the Warhawks' lead with a 13-yard touchdown run by Andrew Margiotta.
Both teams went scoreless in the third quarter.
Marshall trailed Madison 28-0 heading into the fourth quarter. Johnny Hecht increased the Warhawks' lead with a 55-yard touchdown reception. The game ended with Madison defeating Marshall, 35-7.
Cothran led the Warhawks with 220 passing yards, completing 11 of 15 attempts. He had three touchdowns. Walker led the Warhawks with 62 rushing yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. Hecht led Madison with 85 receiving yards and one touchdown on four catches.
Margiotta led Marshall with 96 rushing yards and one touchdown on 16 carries. The Statesmen's top receiver was LaRon Allen, who had one catch for 28 yards.
Madison will host Fairfax High School (1-1, 0-0) on Sept. 1. Marshall will play McLean High School (0-2, 0-1) on Sept. 1.
