The Washington Post creates exclusive 2018 elections experience on Apple News

June 25, 2018 at 6:00 AM

The Washington Post has created Election Now for Apple News to give readers an easy way to follow the race for control of both the House and Senate.

“Working with our award-winning Politics team, we were able to build an exclusive experience for Apple News’ audience,” said Coleen O’Lear, editorial director of emerging news products at The Washington Post. “With these highly-designed and informative race pages, readers will be able to easily see how different factors affect control of Congress.”

Leading up to the 2018 midterm elections, Election Now will highlight important primary races and explain what makes those contests significant by putting key data into context such as historical patterns, current polling, what pundits are saying, and survey data on voter enthusiasm. Graphics will regularly be updated to display seats that are up for reelection and how many are needed for parties to gain or maintain control.

Election Now is anchored by senior political reporter Aaron Blake and can be found here or in Apple News’ Election Hub with any iOS device.
