Leon Panetta headlines “Today’s World View” event at The Washington Post

On Wednesday, July 11, The Washington Post will host “Today’s World View: The Future of Democracy” featuring Leon Panetta, former Secretary of Defense and CIA Director, in conversation with Post foreign affairs columnist David Ignatius. Panetta will offer insight into the most pressing issues surrounding democracy in the United States and throughout the world, and the steps we can take to protect it.

The program will also feature top representatives of international communities and global strategists to explore the future of democracy at home and abroad. Speakers will discuss the populist movements threatening established political parties around the world and why some countries are slipping into authoritarianism.
