Isaac is finishing a doctorate in European history at Oxford, where he has been studying as a Rhodes Scholar, and is writing a book about the 1985 Schengen Agreement and the origins of the European Union’s border policy. He is a 2016 graduate of Yale, where he was a history major and editor-in-chief of the Yale Daily News.
Many of you already know Isaac. He twice interned at The Post, covering politics for the national desk in 2016 and Germany for the foreign desk in 2017. He has reported from across Europe over the past 18 months, including covering elections in the Netherlands, France, Britain and Germany. His writing has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Guernica magazine.
He grew up in Chicago and D.C.
Initially, Isaac will be working with the Mix team in the newsroom. Ultimately, he will work remotely from Oxford as he completes his book. Please welcome him back to the newsroom when he starts Monday.
