Washington Post’s “TL;DR” series wins NABJ award

August 6, 2018 at 3:26 PM

The Washington Post Opinion section’s “TL;DR” series won the National Association of Black Journalists’ Salute to Excellence Award in the digital commentary category.

Hosted by Global Opinions editor Karen Attiah, “TL;DR” brings a unique perspective to complex identity issues and international stories that can be overlooked or under covered. Previous episodes explored the media’s colonial coverage of Africa and how black women are on the front lines of U.S. social justice movements.

The series is produced by senior editor Kate Woodsome, producers and editors Gillian Brockell and Adriana Usero, and graphics editor Danielle Kunitz. The opening animation was created by Dani Player.
