Dennis Funk joins Audio

August 10, 2018 at 10:12 AM

Announcement from Director of Audio Jessica Stahl:

We’re pleased to announce that Dennis Funk will join the audio department as an audio editor.

Dennis comes to us from Chicago’s Third Coast International Audio Festival, where he managed Third Coast’s radio series and podcasts, including the popular Re:sound podcast, and produced many of its live storytelling events. He has also produced freelance stories and music for BBC Radio 4, WBEZ, New Hampshire Public Radio, Outside Magazine and the Art Institute of Chicago. Marrying sound and storytelling to create innovative narratives fulfills Dennis’s goal “to make things I’ve not heard before.” That will be invaluable as he collaborates with our current team on some of our existing narrative podcasts, and works with reporters around the room to develop new long-form features.

Before Third Coast, Dennis worked in London helping develop documentaries and features for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. He has an MA in radio from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BA in nonfiction writing from the University of Pittsburgh.

Please make sure to welcome Dennis when he arrives Aug. 13.
