Atlantic Ocean Beaches from Cape May to Cape Matherns: Today - Sunny, highs to 70s north to near at in south. Saturday - Partly cloudy, highs from low 80s to north to mid 80s in south. Whether temperatures should range from low 70s from Cape May through Maryland, mid 70s off Virginia and near 80 off North Carolina on both days.

West Virginia: Today - Partly cloudy, highs in mid 70s to mid 80s, low in mid 50s and 60s. Saturday - Chance of rain, highs in 80s to near 90.

The National Weather Forecast for Today - Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely over the Pacific northwest, the northern Rocky Mountain region, the Mississippi Valley and Upper Great Lakes, along most of the Gulf Coast region, from Alabama through South Carolina and over Florida. Scattered showers are possible from northern California through western Washington state and over the western portion of the northern and central Plains. Mild temperatures can be expected over western Washington state from the northern Plains and upper Mississippi Valley through the southern portion of the Great Basin and from the middle Atlantic Coast states northward through New England. Portions of the northern and central Rocky Mountain region will be cool, while the remainder of the country can expect temperatures to be seasonably warm to hot.

The Council of Governments' Air Quality Index for yesterdat showed the hight reading in the Washington area during the 2 to 3 p.m. period was 33 for the pollutant, photo chemical oxidants. Index values between 25 and 49 indicate fair air quality. When the index exceeds 100 the air is considered very unhealthy and individuals with lung, heart and eye ailments are urged to restrict their activity. The forecast for today indicates that the air quality will improve.
