There is a chance for widely scattered showers across eastern parts of Arizona and Nevada, the southern and central Rockies, and the northern Plains. Scattered showers are possible over parts of the Ohio Valley, New York and southern New England. Temperatures will be in the 100s across parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and the Southwest desserts. (COLUMN)The Nation Yesterday: Showers and thunderstorms continued to be scattered across Florida and were along the Gulf Coast. There were a few showers in parts of the Great Basin and southeastern Idaho into southern Montana and the Dakotas. Light rain lingered over the eastern part of upper Michigan while thundershowers moved into western New York. Skies were cloudy in parts of Arizona, and portions of southern Minnesota, lower Michigan, and the lower Great Lakes. Haze was reported from northern Florida through the Carolinas and into the central Gulf Coast states. Elsewhere skies were clear during the afternoon.
