First Virginia Bank senior vice president Evelyn R. Jenkins has retired from the bank after 40 years of continuos service. Jenkins was also manager of the bank's branch office on Lee Highway in Arlington.
jenkins originally joined Old Dominion Bank, an antecedent of First Virginia, in 1937 and by 1957 was its first woman vice president. As senior vice president, she was the highest ranking woman officer in First Virginia's history.
Suburban Trust Bank has named Robert L. Peterman senior vice president and division manager of the mortgage loan department. Peterman replaces Wesley A. Stewart, who retired from the bank Feb. 1 after 18 years.
