Government Employees Insurance Co. chairman, president and chief executive officer John J. Byrne announced the organization of five-man corporate office. The group will serve to improve communications among senior management officers and advise Byrne on policy matters.

Members of the group are Edward S. Ring, senior vice president and chief operating officer; Arthur T. Y. Loh, senior vice president and chief financial officer; William B. Snyder, senior president for control; and Alvin E. Kraus, consultant.

Snyder comes to Geico from Travelers Insurance Co. where he was a vice president.The other three senior vice presidents have been with Geico for some time.

Kraus has been with Geico since 1939. He is the retired president and current chairman of Geico's affiliate, Criterion Insurance Co.

Virginia National Bank chairman W. Wright Harrison has been elected chairman of Allied Bank International.

Harrison, one of the original organizers of Allied, has been a board member since its founding in 1968 and has most recently served as vice chairman.

Allied, a banking corporation owned by 18 American banks, provides a variety of international banking services.

Metropolis Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of Metropolis Federal Savings and Loan Assocation, has elected Monica Towle president. Towle, with Metropolis Federal for twelve years, was most recently assistant vice president.

R.W. Corby & Co., In., has named John M. Loud executive vice president in charge of equity operations. Loud comes to Corby from Thomson & McKinnon Auchincloss, Kohlmeyer, Inc. The appointment follows Corby's expansion into equity-securities.

Corby also named Damon Manton, formerly with Industrial National Bank of Rhode Island, executive vice president. Manton specializes in institutional marketing.
