All these offices are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For residents of Northern Virginia (Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church and Fairfax County): 557-9230, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Richmond: 649-2361, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Chesapeake area of Virginia (including Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach): 461-3770, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In the Washington metropolitan area, the IRS also maintains these local offices where you can get help in person to fill out your income tax return. All are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
