A retired Admiral and a retired Army General - both women - were recently elected to the board of directors of United Services Life Companies of Washington. The new directors are Rear Admiral Alene B. Duerk (Ret.), the first woman ever to hold that rank in the Navy, and Brigadier General Anna Mae McCabe Hays (Ret.), the first woman general in the armed forces.
Also elected to the board was Lt. Colonel Winston E. Boutelle, USAF (Ret.).
Admiral Duerk was director of the Navy Nurse Corp and chief of the nursing division of the Navy's Bureau of Medicine and Surgery before her retirement in 1975.
General Hays retired in 1971 as chief of the Army Nurse Corps.
Colonel Boutelle has been a field representative for United Services for more than 14 years.
J. A. Parker, president of the Washington public relations firm of Jay Parker and Associates Inc., has been elected chairman of the board of trustees of Davis Memorial Goodwill Industries in Washington.
Parker has served as vice chairman of the board of Goodwill for the past two years.

Doyle Associates, a New York management consulting firm, for six years. Prior to that he held managerial positions with Pan American, Western Union, American Standard and Curtiss-Wright Corp.
Charles J. Kligman has been elected to the position of chairman of the board of Merkle Press Inc.
James McMahon, senior vice president and member of the management group of Ruder and Finn, one of the nation's largest public relations firms recently joined John Adams Associates Inc. of Washington as a senior associate. John Adams is a public relations firm specializing in energy and environmental communications.
While at Ruder and Finn, McMahon headed the Coca-Cola public relations program, one of the worlds largest.
LogEtronics Inc., a Springfield manufacturer of photographic and electronic equipment, has named Martin F. Moser vice president, finance and administration.
Moser had Previously served as vice president of finance at Atlas Machine and Iron Works Inc., Gainesville, Va. In his new position Moser will have responsibility for all financial functions of LogEtronics.
