The Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. announced that on January 1, 1980 Bernard C. Trueschler, president and chief operating officer, will become the utility's chairman and chief executive officer Trueschler, 56, will succeed C. Edward Utermohle, who is retiring.
In addition George V. McGowan, 51, vice president, management and staff services, will take over as president and chief operating officer.
Trueschler began his career with BG&E in 1948 as superintendent of gas engineers and later headed the company's gas operation.
