Julius L. Katz, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, has joined ACLI International Inc. as senior vice president. He was also elected a director and appointed to the finance committee of the company, which is involved in international commodity trading. Katz is a 1950 graduate of George Washington University and served for 30 years in the State Department.

James E. Holder has been elected vice president in charge of branch operations for Union Trust Bank's Metro Washington region.

Stanley H. Gitelson has been elected president of the Greater Metropolitan Washington chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
