Three directors resigned last week from E.C. Ernst Inc., the electrical contracting firm that is in Chapter XI. They are: Edward P. Johnson Sr., chairman emeritus and a director since 1939: Francis L. Hyne, chairman of Meta Glas Systems, a member of the board since 1973; and John F. Shanklin, a retired vice president of Union Carbide Corp. who joined the Ernst board in July 1978, shortly after the company announced it was having financial difficulty. Elected to replace the three were: John C. Gibbs, executive vice president of Nevada Power Co.; Leon P. Otkiss, a retired partner of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell Co.; and Thomas A. Crowley, a management consultant and former vice president and member of the management board of Johnson & Johnson.

Over at Hugh T. Peck Properties Edward A. Gonet, an associate broker with the firm's McLean office, was named manager of the Vienna, Va., office located in the Pan Am shopping Center off Lee Highway at Nutley Road. Richard B. Price, formerly an associate broker with Routh Bobbins, has been named sales manager for Peck's Fairfax office. w

John Purvis of Purvis Realtors was honored recently for becoming a member of the Broker Manager Multi -- Million Dollar Club of the Capital region of Realty World.

Ernie Miller has been appointed to the executive board of Better Homes Realty Inc. of Arlington. He joined the firm in 1973 and was named sales manager of the Springfield office the following year. He is currently coordinating the company's new home sales in the Burke-Springfield area.
