The Potomac Lung Association, recently renamed the American Lung Association of Norhtern Virginia, has elected new board members for three-year terms ending in 1983. They are: Mrs. Francis W. Appler, Mrs. Ira D. Godwin, Mrs. Kenneth W. Klein, Joseph P. Newlin, Judge Daniel F. O'Flaherty, Mrs. E. Wayne Rountree, John W. Shields, John E. Termini, M.D., C. Thomas Weber, Roger B. Wigton, N.D., and Lena M. Wolfe.

Klein and Mrs. Norman D. Schmidt were elected to three-year terms as representatives to the Virginia Lung Association's board of directors.

John W. Chandler, director of the marine, military and government department of the York division of Borg-Warner, has been appointed to the board of the Shipbuilders Council of America and elected chairman of its Allied Industries Committee.

Clivie C. Haley Jr., assistant vice president of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone C., has been elected president of the Maryland-District of Columbia Utilities Association. Other elections included: vice president, Paul Dragoumis, senior vice president, Pepco; second vice president, Raymond C. Bryant, vice president, consumer services, Baltimore Gas and Electric; treasurer, Alfred H. Inners, assistant secretary and treasurer, Baltimore Gas & Electric; and secretary, Thomas McIntire Williams Jr., district staff forecasting, C&P Telephone.

T. Peter Ruane has been appointed president of the National Furniture Warehousemen's Association. The association recently moved from Chicago to Alexandria. Previously Ruane was deputy director of the Office of Economic Adjustment, Office of the Secretary of Defense. He was the recipient of the Arthur S. Flemming Award as one of the top five young managers in the federal government in 1977 and won the William A. Jump Memorial Foundation Award in 1979.

Joseph Dauksys has been named director of the traffic service of the Aeropsace Industries Association. He served as director of transportation for the Rubber Manufacturers Association for six years and also was the director of the Washington office of the National Retail Merchants Association.
