Beth W. Newburger, sales development and training manager at the Washington Post, was inducted into membership of the National Society of Sales Training Executives at their semi-annual meeting. The association studies developments in behavioral sciences and organizational development while also identifying new concepts for the training of sales personnel.

Marge Rossman was named as president of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She is currently president of Women's Inc., an executive search and management consulting firm headquartered in Chicago.

Edward F. Smith, formerly associate director of public relations for the American Bankers Association, has been promoted to director of member communications. He will continue as editor of perspective, a government relations supplement to the ABA's weekly newsletter Capital.

James P. Low, has been named as president of the American Society of Association Executives. The association is a voluntary membership society for nearly 8,000 executives who manage business, professional and industrial associations in the United States.

Stephen W. Unglesbee has been named manager of public relations for the National Air Transportation Association. He will be responsible for the association's communications with members as well as external audiences. He was previously news and internal publication editor on the corporation communications staff of Fairchild Industries.

Ernest H. Davenport has been elected president of the District of Columbia Institute of Certified Accountants. Currently he is assistant director of the financial and general management studies division of the U.S. General Accounting Office.

Stanley Hayman, president of the Hayman Cash Register Company of Washington, was elected as vice president of the Independent Cash Register Dealers Association at its annual convention. He was one of the founders of the association, having served as secretary/treasurer for 27 years.
