Patrick M. Rodgers has been appointed senior vice president of the Bankers Finance Corp. of Arlington.

The First National Bank of Maryland has announced the following officer appointments and promotions:

Janet M. Price has been named regional branch officer in First National's Baltimore metropolitan retail region. Wanda S. Shade was named marketing manager. The bank's corporate financial services division named Harris L. Cooperman to corporate finance executive. Esther Heymann is now operations officer. In the financial services division, Michael S. Karsner and James G. Morris were named assistant accounting officers. Paul S. Novak is now assistant management accounting officer. Robert C. Behles, of the Frederick County region, was named regional operations officer. In First National's greater Washington region, Carol A. Ward was named senior regional operations officer and Valerie S. Welch was named personnel officer.

Brian R. Pauletti, a former area resident, has been promoted to vice president of North Carolina National Bank. He is a member of the bank's real estate lending division and graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in finance.

Steve A. Ball has been named assistant vice president and manager of loan organization for Providence Savings and Loan in Northern Virginia. Sharon L. Carney was named assistant vice president and special accounts manager. Col. John L. Isani, USA-Ret., was promoted from operations manager to vice president, and Jane H. McKain was named assistant vice president and assistant manager of the savings department. Current marketing manager Richard H. Tubbs Jr. was named vice president, and Scott W. Lewis was promoted to assistant treasurer and manager of construction loans.

Charles E. Pollow has been named vice president and financial institutions correspondent officer of First American Bank of Virginia.

Ronald K. Wills has been appointed assistant vice president and retail lending manager of the National Bank of Washington.

Margaret Winkler has joined the Washington services office of Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc. as a broker.
