A.W. Duke Jr. has been elected president of Overnite Transportation Co. of Richmond, succeeding Kenneth Gentil, who was named vice chairman.

T. Dewi Rowlands has been promoted to executive vice president of marketing and product support for the North American division of British Aerospace Inc. Kenneth C. Spinney has been appointed vice president for marketing, with responsibilities for both corporate and airline marketing. David G. Field, formerly director of corporate marketing, is now in charge of airlines marketing, and Kenneth Weiss has been appointed director of corporate marketing.

George H. Wingfield has been appointed director of real estate and planning and John R. Nuckols Jr. has become assistant comptroller of the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac Railroad.

Bill E. Little has been appointed president and chief executive officer of The New River Co., a CSX coal-mining subsidiary with headquarters in Mount Hope, W. Va.

Matt Scocozza, counsel of the Senate Commerce Committee, has received the first Cooperstown Conference award. The award will be presented each year to the individual who has provided the greatest assistance to the northeast railroads in the area of government relations.

Arnold L. Tunis has joined Snyder Body Inc., a bus and truck equipment firm, as vice president and general manager of its Transportation Products division.
