Edwin I. Colodny, chairman and president of USAir, has been elected to the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
In addition, Jeffrey H. Joseph was promoted to vice president for domestic policy at the U.S. Chamber. He was previously manager of the business-government affairs division, where he will be succeeded by Mark Schultz, who has been special counsel for the division.
John F. Smith, managing partner of the Baltimore office of Arthur Young and Co., was recently elected chairman of the board of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.
At the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce, James M. Enroughty Jr. has become program manager and John R. Broadway Jr., director of public affairs and research. Enroughty was formerly with the Virginia Association of Realtors. Broadway has been counsel to the state Senate General Laws Committee.
Wayne W. Lalor has been named assistant general manager for operations for the Washington Convention Center. Lalor has been director of operations for the convention centers in Baltimore, Long Island, and San Francisco.
In two related developments, Khalil A. Johnson has been named manager of events services for the Washington Convention Center and Thomas H. McCloud will become manager of human resources. Johnson was previously with the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta and McCloud was director of employment training for the National League of Cities.
Thomas A. Hammer, former deputy undersecretary for international affairs and commodity programs at the Department of Agriculture, recently joined the law firm of Heron, Burchette & Ruckert.
Richard A. Whiteley has been named executive vice president of the Benham Group East, the Washington division of the Benham Group, an architectural planning firm.
Douglas C. Dick has been appointed controller of the Andrulis Research Corp., a high technology research and development firm.
P. James Terragno has been promoted to executive vice president of Pergamon International Information Corp. Before joining the company in 1980, Terragno was director of office search systems at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
John R. Deane Jr., president of Deane Associates Ltd., and Richard P. Sullivan, president and chief executive officer of Easco Corp., were recently elected to the board of directors of Planning Research Corp.
Also at PRC, John L. Corse has been named president of PRC Realty Systems, a division of PRC Computers Systems. Corse has been a senior vice president of the realty division for six years.
Lawrence Perlman has become vice president and general counsel of the new corporate services office at Control Data Corp.
Mortimor S. Gordon was recently elected a director of Syscon Corp. He is of counsel with the New York law firm of Hall, Dickler, Lawler, Kent & Howley.
Barry D. Greenhouse has been named president of Soil Systems Inc., an environmental consulting firm located in Alexandria.
