Ground has been broken for the first of three buildings planned at West Oaks Executive Park on Pender Drive in Fairfax County. The $4.5 million, three-story building will contain 54,000 square feet of office space.
The first building is to be completed next January. Tiber Construction Co. of Washington is the general contractor and the developer is Firestone/McCrann of McLean.
Other recent developments in commercial realty in the metropolitan area:
* Office Center International, an office sharing and service company based in Princeton, N.J., has leased 19,270 square feet of space at 1100 Wayne Ave. in Silver Spring for its Washington office. The aggregate rental value of the 10-year lease is $3.4 million.
The $16 million office complex at 1100 Wayne Ave. contains 160,000 square feet of space. The complex, which opened late last year, is located near the Silver Spring Metro station.
* Information Systems Technology Inc. has leased 2,263 square feet of space at 6301 Ivy Lane in Greenbelt. The computer company is subleasing the space from Anacomp Inc.
* Warner Mechanical Corp. has leased 5,068 square feet of space at 2115 East Jefferson St. in Rockville. The mechanical contracting company is relocating its headquarters from Alexandria.
