First Investors Corp., a New York-based investment firm, has promoted Allan Berman to division manager of its Annapolis office. Berman, 29, was formerly an associate manager at First Investors Corp.'s Baltimore office.
Ray H. Fentriss has been named corporate vice president for marketing at the Gartner Group Inc., a Connecticut-based market analysis firm for the information processing industry. Fentriss, 49, was formerly senior vice president of marketing with Satellite Business Systems.
The Washington Telephone Federal Credit Union has announced four promotions: Jose Tain-Alfonso , to executive vice president; Joyce Deal , to vice president of branch operations; Anil Sood , to vice president and controller, and Terry Powers , to vice president of marketing.
First American Bank of Washington has promoted four officers: Ruth C. Shaw , to vice president and manager of personal trust with the bank's asset management group; N. Ray Sague and Jean L. Warnke , to assistant vice presidents of the asset management group, and Robert W. Rumbaugh , to assistant vice president and branch manager of the 15th Street office. Also, four employes were elected to officer positions: Robert Sievers , to data processing officer in the systems and data processing division; Randy Clark , to assistant cashier and assistant branch manager of the office at 18th & K streets; Donna C. Groover , to assistant cashier and assistant branch manager of the 17th & Pennsylvania Ave. office, and Porter Siems , to assistant vice president of the international division.
John C. Murphy has been appointed gene- ral counsel of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., effective Sept. 24. Murphy has been employed by the Washington office of Cleary, Gottleib, Steen & Hamilton, a New York-based law firm, since 1977, and was made a partner in the firm in 1982. Murphy will replace Thomas A. Brooks, who resigned from the FDIC in June.
Dominion Bank N.A. and its parent company, Dominion Bankshares Corp., have named Donald R. Cascini international banking officer. Cascini is currently international banking representative for Dominion in western Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia. Before joining Dominion last year, Cascini worked in sales and management for several firms.
Central National Bank of Maryland has appointed Regina A. Crane assistant vice president and manager of its Bethesda West office. Crane was formerly a branch manager with Suburban Bank.
