Services by Satellite Inc. has elected Thomas C. Warnock its second president, succeeding Elizabeth L. Young, who is leaving the firm to become vice president for marketing at Comsat General. Prior to joining SatServ, Warnock was executive vice president of National Public Radio.
The public relations firm Gray & Co. has named Lawrence J. Brady senior vice president. Brady was assistant secretary of Commerce for trade administration from 1981 to 1983 and a White House adviser on international economic policy during the Ford administration.
Roy Karten has joined Washingtonian magazine as photo editor. He was formerly with U.S. News and World Report.
Diana Holman, former director of industry relations for the U.S. Synthetic Fuels Corp., has joined the Washington public relations firm of Crosland Holman Communications.
Space Communications Co., the Gaithersburg firm that operates the National Aeronautics and Space Administration tracking and data relay satellite system, has promoted Victor Armengol to director of budgets and cost control. Spacecom is a partnership of Continental Telecom Inc. and Fairchild Industries Inc.
COMSAT TeleSystems Inc. has appointed Kenneth H. Hoch to assistant vice president for marketing services and contracts. Hoch is a former contract manager for the Fairchild Space and Electronics Co.
Old Dominion Printing Co. has hired Lori Scheiter, Mary Lou Owen and Janos Enyedi to be account representatives. Leslie Perkins has become graphics director. Perkins, Owen and Scheiter were formerly with Graphic Consultants Inc. Enyedi, a sculptor, has been an art instructor at Madiera School.
RKO General Inc. has appointed Michael G. Ferrel general manager of its Washington radio station, WGMS FM/AM. Ferrel has been with the radio station for 11 years, most recently as general sales manager.
