Martin Marietta Corp. has promoted Norman R. Augustine to senior vice president of the corporation with responsibility for the manufacturing conglomerate's newest operating entity, Martin Marietta Information & Communications Systems, and for Martin Marietta Data Systems, the firm's fastest-growing segment. Peter B. Teets, a vice president for Martin Marietta Denver Aerospace, will succeed Augustine as president of that subsidiary. In addition, David C. Dressler, senior vice president since 1983, will take on added responsibility for the company's basic products unit.

At Martin Marietta Data Systems, three divisional vice presidents have been appointed: Shirley F. Prutch, who began her career with Martin Marietta's aerospace subsidiary, has been named vice president and general manager of Data Systems' systems integration division. Kenneth F. Hoffman, who is also chairman of the National Science Foundation's advisory committee on policy research, succeeds Prutch as vice president and manager of the accounts division. And William A. Morrill, formerly president of the Mathematica Policy Research Group, has become vice president and general manager of the company's Mathematica Consulting and Research division, recently formed by the acquisition of both Mathtech and Mathematica.

Commonwealth Aluminum Corp., the former Martin Marietta subsidiary recently acquired by Comalco Ltd., the Australian aluminum manufacturer, has appointed its senior staff, announced Edward J. Tighe, a vice president of the subsidiary under Martin Marietta and now president of Commonwealth: Kenneth L. Bechdel, vice president for personnel; Robin F. Johnson, vice president for finance and administration; William T. Sullenberger, vice president for marketing and sales; M. Bob Bartlett, director of metal control; Frank J. Correa, director of strategic planning; Maclyn McCarty Jr., director of facilities and engineering; and William Vetter, counsel. Johnson, Sullenberger, Bartlett and McCarty were previously with Martin Marietta aluminum, and Bechdel and Vetter were on the Martin Marietta corporate staff. Correa is transferring from Comalco in Australia. Commonwealth, which has its headquarters in Bethesda and operations in Lewisport, Ky., Goldendale, Wash., and Portland, Ore., had sales in fiscal 1983 of $671 million.

McCormick & Co. Inc. in Hunt Valley, Md., has appointed three senior managers in its grocery products division, the spice company's largest operating division: William C. H. Zimmerman Jr., formerly director of financial planning for the corporation, to general manager for the company's Tio Sancho product line; William E. Younger Jr., director of purchasing for the division since 1979, to director of systems and project management; and Raymond A. Weeks, a former purchasing manager, to director of purchasing. In addition, William J. Donovan, who joined the firm in 1982 as manager of financial systems, has been promoted to controller of the company's real estate subsidiary, McCormick Properties Inc. And, Elizabeth Todd Lambert, formerly manager of financial analysis, has been named manager of business planning and evaluation for McCormick's international division.
