Robert J. Szarek, until recently chief financial officer of the Falls Church based manufacturingconglomerate, UNC Resources Inc., has been named chief financial officer at Entre' Computer Centers Inc. Szarek, who received an MBA from Harvard University and has 20 years' experience in his field, will report to Bert I. Helfinstein, vice president for the Vienna-based franchisor of computer retail centers.

Giant Food Inc. has announced the promotion of four employes to vice president: George W. Hannis Jr. to vice president for dairy, delicatessen, meat and seafood operations; M. Davis Herriman to vice president for grocery operations; Emanuel Richman to vice president for pharmacy operations, and Robert W. Schoening to vice president for data processing systems at the Landover-based supermarket chain.

Scandinavian Gallery, a division of Scandinavian Design of New England, has appointed Merl Altoft, formerly general manager for stores in the Washington area, to vice president.

Woodward & Lothrop announced promotions in its men's clothing division: David Prensky was named the division's vice president. Amy Spivok was appointed a sportswear merchandise manager. And in new positions, Woodies named Susan Hessler buyer for young men's and sports furnishings; Elayne Masterson as buyer for young men's furnishings and James R. Knapp as buyer for personal furnishings.

Subaru Atlantic Inc. in Savage, Md., has appointed James C. Welsh vice president and general manager. Welsh, who helped organize the East Coast dealership in 1978, returns to Subaru Atlantic after serving as general manager of its affiliate in Southern California.

Eastern Business Machines in Greenbelt has appointed Anthony C. Korkolis, formerly the retailer's director of branch operations, to senior vice president.

Wanless M. Goodson, president of Goodson's Supermarkets in West Virginia, and Herbert F. Smith, president of Lou Smith Supermarkets in the Tidewater, Va., area, have been elected to the board of directors of Richfood Inc., a food wholesaler based in Richmond. Goodson and Smith are replacing Raymond Garrett, who sold his food business and resigned from the board last fall, and Robert Little Jr., who died in November.

General Microcomputers Inc., a retail computer chain, has promoted Marsha Lucidi to district manager. She was previously Wisconsin Avenue store manager.
