Eastmet Corp. President William F. Dausch has been named to the additional position of chief executive officer of the Baltimore steel manufacturer. He succeeds George R. Walsh, who announced his plans to retire in September. Eastmet also named James F. Beisler, formerly a plant manager with Copperweld Steel Co., as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He will have overall responsibility for Eastmet's largest operating unit, Eastern Stainless Steel Co.
Allegheny Beverage Corp. in Cheverly, Md., has named Gary P. Hand, formerly New York regional manager for Scandinavian Gallery Furniture, vice president for operations at the manufacturer's Desks & Furnishings Inc. subsidiary. He will report to Stuart R. Kaplan, president of the office furniture retailing company, who is building a new management team.
McCormick & Co. Inc., the Hunt Valley, Md., spice maker, has named Thomas T. Miller and Carroll D. Nordhoff vice presidents. Miller, a former president of the American Spice Trade Association, was promoted to vice president for purchasing. Nordhoff, formerly president of the Baltimore chapter of the American Hotel and Motel Association, was promoted to vice president for human relations. Also, John D. Roth was promoted to assistant controller for the firm's food service division. And Rong-Ching Hsieh was named food process engineer for McCormick's research and development labs.
