Vie de France Corp., gearing up for an expansion of its restaurant operations, has named Robert N. Blessing Jr. director of retail operations for the division. Blessing is a former chairman of the Arby's Franchisee Association and chief operating officer of Restaurant Management Inc., which owned and operated 21 Arby's restaurants. In addition, Thomas S. Vesolich, previously executive vice president of Cincinnati-based Marco Polo restaurants, will become assistant director of retail operations for the 31-restaurant division. David M. Roberts, chairman of Quick Service Concepts, a Washington operator of Fresher Cooker restaurants, and Sheldon Kroner, president of that company, have been named division directors of real estate/construction and human resources, respectively.
Neiman-Marcus' Harry Morton Rector III has been named vice president and general merchandise manager for the women's wear division at Raleigh's, the regional retail clothing chain. Rector was a vice president and director of the sportswear division for the Dallas-based Neiman-Marcus.
Lord & Taylor has promoted Joseph H. Johnson III to divisional vice president and managing director of the White Flint store in Kensington. He had been managing director of the chain's Fair Oaks store in Fairfax. Mark M. Rossi, formerly managing director of a Houston Lord & Taylor store, has been named managing director of the Chevy Chase store.
U.S. Shoe Inc. has promoted Richard Cheniae to vice president and general manager for its Hahn Shoe Stores division. He replaces Charlie Brown, who will become responsible for buying women's shoes.
