Martin Marietta Corp. has tapped William P. Osborne, a former Communications Satellite Corp. executive, for the position of vice president of its information and communications systems development division. Osborne, a vice president in Comsat's technology products group since 1983, will head domestic communications satellite and communications systems business for the Bethesda-based conglomerate.

UNC Resources Inc., continuing to build a team of acquisition specialists, has named Bernard M. Kostelnik, a former attorney with Reynolds Metals Co., to the new position of senior vice president and general counsel. Kostelnik's experience in acquisitions and divestitures with U.S. Filter Systems and his work in environmental litigation with the Anaconda Co. "fits our needs very well," said the company's president and chief executive officer, Dan A. Colussy.

Benjamin A. Thorp, formerly engineering vice president for BE&K Engineering Co., one of the country's larger paper pulp contract engineering firms, has joined James River Corp., the Richmond-based paper products manufacturing firm. Thorp will have responsibility for the firm's engineering and technical operations in Wisconsin, Alabama and Connecticut.

After four years as director of European marketing operations for Genex Corp., Anne Catherine Jouanneau has been promoted to vice president of marketing for the Rockville-based biotechnology firm's international subsidiary. Jouanneau, who will remain based in Paris, will help find overseas customers for the firm's products and services.
