Cardiff Publishing Co. Inc., which publishes four communications trade magazines, has named as its Washington bureau chief Rob Stoddard, formerly press secretary for Sen. Nancy L. Kassebaum (R-Kan.). Additionally, Joni M. Lucas, a recent graduate of the University of Illinois, was named editorial assistant.
Gray & Co., the Washington public relations firm, has named Peter Gridley, formerly Washington manager for J. Walter Thompson U.S.A., as senior vice president and head of its advertising arm, Power House Communications. Also, Tamara Kirson, formerly with Earle Palmer Brown Cos. as an account supervisor, has joined the firm as vice president and account supervisor. And Jo Manley, who has worked with a number of local ad agencies, has been hired as a copywriter. J. Walter Thompson U.S.A. said Jeffrey L. White has succeeded Gridley as manager of the advertising agency's Washington operations.
The Hannaford Co. Inc. has tapped Mark E. Moran, previously senior vice president and counsel for Gray & Co. and a former foreign policy and defense adviser to Sens. Frank Church, John V. Tunney and Floyd K. Haskell, as general counsel for the public relations firm and managing director of its new international division, Hannaford Communications International. Additionally, Vice President Joe M. Norton has been named head of the media services department in Washington.
