The Man of the Years Committee of The Greater Washington Board of Trade recognized its second woman, Louise Lynch, for outstanding business and community contributions, naming her 1986 Man of the Years.

Lynch, president and chief executive officer of Courtesy Associates, heads the corporation that includes greater Washington's largest daytime telephone answering service, a travel agency, a special-events planning group and executive-office leasing services.

She is active in more than 20 community and business organizations, including the Federal City Council, Washington Industrial Roundtable and the National Conference of Christians and Jews. She serves on a variety of boards of directors ranging from Security National Bank to the Boy Scouts of America.

Lynch, a newly elected officer of the Board of Trade, serves on the executive committee and the board of directors. She has been chairman of the board's membership bureau and vice chairman of the business development bureau.

Lynch said she was honored to receive the award and hoped to live up to the fine reputation of the first woman recipient, Flaxie M. Pinkett, who won the award in 1981. The "Man of the Years" award will be given to Lynch at a dinner ceremony on May 21 at the Capital Hilton.
