NVRyan L.P. reported second-quarter earnings of $4.2 million (15 cents per partnership unit), an increase of 73 percent from $2.4 million (15 cents) for the same quarter in 1986.

Quarterly sales were $233.7 million, a 505 percent increase from $38.7 million for the previous year.

The company said the increase was primarily attributable to the recent acquisition of Ryan Homes, which added $176 million in revenue.

NVHomes operating group, alone, had a 49 percent increase in revenue, from $38.7 million in last year's second quarter to $57.7 million.

Ryan Homes operating group's quarterly revenue was 4 percent greater this year compared with last year.

The company said that per unit earnings are not comparable, despite the jump in earnings, because the company issued new partnership units to the public in the last week of the second quarters of both 1986 and 1987.

For the first six months of the year, earnings were $5.6 million (18 cents), an increase of 136 percent from $2.4 million (14 cents) for the first half of 1986.

Revenue was $398.7 million, a 596 percent increase from $57.3 million.

Comnet Corp., a computer software and services company, reported earnings of $402,000 (16 cents per share) on revenue of $10.2 million for its first quarter ending June 30, compared with profits of $140,000 (6 cents) on revenue of $9.2 million for the same quarter the prior year.

Biotech Research Laboratories Inc. of Rockville reported second-quarter earnings of $109,823 (2 cents), compared with a loss of $105,753 (2 cents) for the same period last year.

Quarterly revenue was $2.3 million, an increase of 65 percent from $1.4 million in the same period last year.

For the first six months of this year, earnings were $182,750 (3 cents), compared with a loss of $323,403 (6 cents) during the first half of 1986.

Revenue was $4.3 million, an increase of 56 percent from $2.8 million.

CACI International Inc. of Arlington reported earnings of $2.7 million (22 cents) for the fiscal year ended June 30, a 157 percent increase over fiscal year 1986 income of $1.05 million (9 cents). Revenue for fiscal 1987 was $118.8 million, up 20 percent from $98.7 million for fiscal 1986.

Earnings for the quarter ending June 30 were $895,980 (7 cents), an 88 percent jump from $477,328 (4 cents) for the same quarter in 1986. Quarterly revenue was $33.8 million, an increase of 27 percent from $26.6 million for the same quarter last year.
