American Airlines said it will levy a surcharge on passengers whose flights begin at any one of five airports. Trans World Airlines said yesterday that it would match the charges of $4 at New Jersey's Newark; $1.50 at New Orleans International; and $1 at New York's LaGuardia Airport and Florida's West Palm Beach and Fort Myers airports.
Hughes Network Systems of Germantown will provide a satellite communications system to American Airlines and its Sabre reservation service. The multimillion- dollar system will link American's data center in Tulsa to airport facilities of the airline and Sabre travel agents.
Rockwell International said its board has authorized extension of the company's stock repurchase program by an additional $500 million. Together with another program approved in 1983, the company has repurchased 79.7 million shares of its common stock for $1.63 billion.
Domino's Pizza said it is teaming up with Burger King to sell six-inch pizzas at four of the hamburger chain's South Carolina restaurants. Domino's newly formed Pizzazz unit plans to begin the year-long test in September. McDonald's Corp. is currently testing its own 12-inch pizzas at 200 units.
