has reaped $1 billion in profit from oil exports in the past six months because of the Persian Gulf crisis, the country's oil minister said. That sum is about three times as much as predicted in Egypt's budget forecast.

Brown & Williamson Tobacco

said it will not appeal a New Jersey Supreme Court decision that health warnings on cigarette packs do not protect tobacco companies from liability suits. The company said it is confident it would win if any liability cases are presented.
