Under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code, a company is protected from claims by creditors while it attempts to reorganize its finances under a plan approved by the court. Maryland Glass Service Inc. of Waldorf filed for Chapter 7 liquidation Jan. 28. The construction company listed assets of $32,500 and liabilities of $268,533.

Dominick Joseph Pisano, doing business as Dominick's New York Style Pizzeria, filed for Chapter 13 personal reorganization Dec. 18. The McHenry, Md., restaurant listed assets of under $50,000 and liabilities of between $100,000 and $499,000.

Ronald Eugene Reese, doing business as Subway Tavern Restaurant, also known as Subway Confectionary, filed for Chapter 11 reorganization Jan. 29. The Hagerstown tavern and restaurant listed both assets and liabilities of between $100,000 and $499,000 each.

Mays L. Swicord and Kay P. Swicord of Brookeville filed Jan. 30 for Chapter 11 reorganization individually and doing business as K-Development. The property development company listed both assets and liabilities of more than $1 million. The company owes $252,599 to Chevy Chase Federal Savings Bank of Laurel and $174,000 to First Tennessee Bank of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Superior Woodworking Inc. of Beltsville filed for Chapter 11 reorganization Jan. 30. The architectural millwork manufacturer listed assets of $159,585 and liabilities of $356,722.

Tycon Developers of Vienna filed for Chapter 7 liquidation Jan. 28. The commercial property developer listed assets of under $50,000 and liabilities of more than $1 million. The company owes money to the Prudential Insurance Company of America and Crestar Bank of Falls Church.

Tycon Developers filed a petition Jan 28 requesting that Penthouse A. Inc of McLean be placed into Chapter 7 liquidation. Tycon Developers said it is owed $123,053 by the commercial-space leasing firm.

Virginia South Corp. of Clifton filed for Chapter 7 liquidation Jan. 28. The residential construction company listed assets of under $50,000 and liabilities of between $100,000 and $499,000.

Delta Eighty Corp. of Arlington filed for Chapter 7 liquidation Jan. 24. The government consulting company, which specialized in Navy work, listed assets of $998 and liabilities of $50,014.

S&B L.P. of Camp Springs filed for Chapter 11 reorganization Jan. 24. The company owes $837,193 to Tri-M Construction Inc. and $23,929 to Service Industries of Lombard, Ill.
