V-Tech Solutions Inc. plans to hire about 15 people as soon as possible. Victor P. Holt, president and chief executive, talked with The Post's Kate Wichmann.

QWhat does your company do?

AWe provide IT and professional services for commercial and government clients. Our forte is network management, help-desk support, cabling and infrastructure, software development and systems engineering. We also do project management, provide administrative and clerical support and technical writing.

What would your employees say were the best reasons for working at your company?

We're focused on the customer and getting the job done. We're also employee driven. Our employees' ideas are definitely welcomed, acknowledged and rewarded. Employees can come up with the simplest thing, and they've improved service, saved the company money or enhanced the relationship with the customer. When I started this company, it was important to me that the company and the employees are recognized for their contributions, not only the people at the top.

What sense of stability can your company offer job candidates?

We've positioned ourselves with commercial, federal, local and state government clients. We don't go after just one venue. We do a lot of work with the military. Most of our contracts are running for four years. Our marketing is very aggressive, and our reputation is ever growing.

Who owns your company, and what are their qualifications?

The company is 100 percent owned by me. I have 22 years of network engineering experience.

What are the demographics of your employees?

We're about 35 percent female and about 65 percent minority. Our four-person executive team has two women and one minority. Our average age is 40 years old. No one has left the company since inception; our retention rate is 100 percent.

What positions do you have available and what level of expertise do you want?

We need two systems administrators with Top Secret/Secret Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) Lifestyle Poly(graph) security clearance (five to seven years' experience); one security engineer with TS/SCI clearance (five to seven years); one administrative assistant with TS/SCI Lifestyle Poly clearance (three to five years), three Tier 1 help-desk technicians with secret clearance (one to three years); and eight independent validation and verification (IV&V) engineers (five to seven years).
