Starpoint Solutions plans to hire about 12 people as soon as possible. Sally Ann Bengasi, senior vice president, talked with The Post's Kate Wichmann.

Q What does your company do?

A Predominantly we do custom-application development, portal development, IT staffing and enterprise application.

What would your employees say were the best reasons for working at your company?

It's close-knit, and people are happy to work here. People are down to earth, friendly, and we socialize together.

What sense of stability can your company offer job candidates?

Our company has been around for 20 years. Our Reston office has been open for four years, and if we made it through the last two we can make it through a lot. Goldman Sachs backs us. There are no guarantees, but most people come here and stay here.

Who owns your company, and what are their qualifications?

We're a privately held company, and our two top officials are Jeff Najarian, chief executive, and Mark Gutterman, chief financial officer. Jeff has over 21 years experience in technical recruiting and sales, and Mark has accounting experience.

What are the demographics of your company?

Here in Reston we're 60 percent minority and 20 percent female.

What positions do you have available, and what level of expertise do you want?

We need six Web developers (three to 10-plus years' experience), four network engineers (five-plus years'), one technical writer (five-plus years') and one project manager ( 10-plus years'). Some of the jobs will need various levels of government clearance.
