Ancon Group LLC plans to hire about 11 people in the next three months. Anthony Evans, executive vice president of operations, sales and marketing, talked with The Post's Kate Wichmann.
Q What does your company do?
A Our company does three things: information design and documentation, information security, and information technology. We have both government and commercial clients.
What would your employees say were the best reasons for working at your company?
We go the extra mile for our employees. Employee satisfaction is essential to us; it is very important to us to give a lot of recognition and encouragement to our employees. We have completion bonuses and team-building meetings.
What sense of stability can your company offer job candidates?
I'd break our stability down to three things: We have aggressive marketing for new business, we have quality project management to deliver our clients' needs, and we run a very ethical shop. People who are performing their tasks at expected levels shouldn't have a question about their stability in their positions. Our contracts run for three to five years, and so far we've been able to move people from one project to the next.
Who owns your company, and what are their qualifications?
My wife and I own the company. Conni has 15 years of training and documentation experience, and I have 15 years of technical sales and staffing executive management experience.
What are the demographics of your company?
The company is 70 percent female and 50 percent minority. Our four-person executive team has three women and three minorities. Our average age is probably between 38 and 41.
What positions do you have available, and what level of expertise do you want?
We need two business contingency and continuity specialists (seven years experience), two network security engineers (seven years), two information security writers (five years), one senior technical writer (with four years software change management experience), one mid-level technical writer (three years), one PeopleSoft analyst (three years experience in both financials and human resources), one senior Oracle architect (10 years experience, must have 9iAS implementation) and one Oracle database administrator (seven years experience).
