Those results beat last year's first-quarter earnings of $7.5 million (90 cents). The cabinet maker's earnings also beat analyst estimates, and the Winchester company said it expects "healthy demand" in the second quarter.

XO Communications

While that was good news for XO, the company would have preferred a more permanent solution.

Tessco Technologies

Tessco shares tumbled last week after the brokerage firm Robert W. Baird cut its rating for the company, citing the possible loss of a major customer. The brokerage firm said Tessco's announcement that T-Mobile will be transitioning to a different relationship with Tessco could mean lower revenue for the Hunt Valley company, which is a supplier for wireless networks.
