* EPlus, a Herndon provider of cost management software, said its board of directors authorized the repurchase over 12 months of up to 3 million shares of its common stock, up to a maximum of $7.5 million. EPlus had 8.96 million shares of common stock outstanding as of Sept. 30. After the announcement, shares of ePlus jumped almost 7 percent, to close at $11.59, up 75 cents.

* SI International, a Reston information technology company, won a five-year, $11.4 million contract to provide logistics support to the Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Depot Maintenance Operations and Programs Divisions at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. SI will conduct analytical studies, perform material financial analysis, support logistics program implementation, administer information systems, update Web pages and maintain databases.

* YDI Wireless of Falls Church and Phazar of Mineral Wells, Tex., have agreed to cancel their planned merger. YDI, which offers wireless data equipment and operates as Terabeam Wireless, agreed to pay Phazar, which manufactures antennas and towers, $100,000 and to transfer certain equipment to it.

* VSE of Alexandria said its systems engineering division won a four-year, $10.5 million contract to provide and establish Mobile and Modular Corrosion Service Centers at key Army locations. VSE will provide systems engineering, logistics and program support services to the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command at Warren, Mich.
