Filing Targets Nextel Rebranding

Nextel Partners asked a New York court to stop Nextel Communications from making brand-name changes to reflect its merger with Sprint until the Nextel companies can resolve a dispute over joint-venture terms. Nextel Partners, which sells Nextel-branded products and services in 31 states, has been excluded from integration and marketing discussions, the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Rockville Biotech Firm Releases Drug Data

Human Genome Sciences said lung-cancer patients tolerated its HGS-ETR1 drug well in clinical trials. The Rockville biotech company said nine of 32 patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer were observed to have their cancer stabilized, and no patients discontinued the treatment because of toxicity to the drug.

WebMethods Expects to Reduce Losses

WebMethods, a Fairfax maker of software for inventory management and shipping, reported preliminary results in the quarter ended June 30 that improved from last year but fell short of expectations. The company said it expects to report a loss of 2 to 4 cents per share, down from a loss of 20 cents a year ago. Sales are projected to be $47 million to $48 million, up from $41.9 million.

Trex to Relocate to Dulles Town Center

Trex, a Winchester firm that makes decking and railing materials, has signed a long-term lease to move its national headquarters to an office park under development at Dulles Town Center. The lease on the 80,071-square-foot space was announced by North Bethesda-based real estate developer Lerner Enterprises.

Wireless Network Firm Plans Move to Tysons

FSONA Systems, which provides optical wireless networks primarily for U.S. military and government clients, is to open a corporate headquarters in Tysons Corner. The company switched coasts -- and countries -- to be closer to its big customers. Its manufacturing facility will remain in British Columbia. Fifteen executives, including chief executive Sunny Taylor, will relocate to the region.
