DecisionPath Consulting plans to hire about 10 people in the next month or two. Charles Kaplan, director of marketing and business development, and Mary Jaworski, director of human resources, talked with The Post's Andrea Caumont.
QWhat does your company do?
AKaplan: We help large public and private-sector organizations make better decisions using their information systems. We provide what I'd call strategy, business process, technology and program management services in the business intelligence and data warehousing specialized fields.
What do you think your employees would say are the best reasons for working at your company?
Jaworski: We value a healthy work-life balance, and we have many local and regional clients. We go to great lengths to solicit input from all of our employees so we drive the culture toward the interests of our employees. We also foster a collaborative environment that recognizes group achievement and provides opportunity for individual career growth and development.
Who owns your company?
Kaplan: The company is jointly owned by Steve Williams, president and founder, and his business partner.
What sense of stability can your company offer job candidates?
Jaworski: We strongly believe in hiring individuals for the long term, and we place an emphasis on individual career growth and development. We are on a solid growth pattern and have a mix of clients that help us diversify our portfolio of engagement.
What are the demographics of your company?
Kaplan: Company-wide we're 27 percent female and 41 percent minority. Within the nine-person senior management team we're 22 percent female and there are no minorities.
What positions do you have available, and what level of expertise do you want?
Jaworski: We're looking for five business analysts for consulting engagements with an MBA and five or more years of experience, two to three data modelers with five years of experience, and one to two project managers with at least 10 years of experience.
