O'Keeffe & Company plans to hire about 14 people in the next two months. Stephen O'Keeffe, president, talked with The Post's Andrea Caumont.

Q What does your company do?

A We're a technology marketing firm, and we help our clients communicate clearly and simply and help them address the hot buttons in the market, such as prevailing business trends and government trends that are relevant to the technology market. We work with technology companies and government agencies . . . to develop and execute effective communication programs that make a difference in their profile and their bottom line. We help increase their visibility in the target market, through advertising, marketing, public relations, events and online programs. We represent business-to-business and business-to-government clients, as well as the government itself. Our clients include software, hardware and telecommunication companies, systems integrators and government agencies.

What do you think your employees would say were the best reasons for working at your company?

The first thing is our people. We have an entrepreneurial environment where we allow people to rise based on their abilities. We reward initiative and thorough execution. The culture is a very fast-growth organization and we're growing exponentially right now. We have a very flexible environment, so we encourage telework and work-life balance, but we're very focused on results and we encourage people to innovate in order to produce those results.

Who owns your company?

I do.

What sense of stability can your company offer job candidates?

We've always grown steadily and deliberately. We're not the kind of organization that bloats and shrinks. We're very clearly focused in our target market, and we have a very strong stable of blue-chip clients. We've never had a layoff in eight years.

What are the demographics of your company?

Company-wide we are 68 percent female and 8 percent minority. In the eight-person senior management team, we are 50 percent female and there is one minority.

What positions do you have available, and what level of expertise do you want?

We're looking for one director of business development with 15 years of experience, one director of operations and three account directors each with 10 years of experience, two account managers with seven years of experience, two senior account executives and one office manager with five years of experience, two account executives with three years of experience and two account coordinators with one year of experience.
